MSCI appoints directors to its board
MSCI has named Paula Volent and Sandy Rattray as independent directors to its board, starting from 26 February.
The appointments will increase the number of board directors from 10 to 12.
Volent currently serves as senior vice president for investments and chief investment officer at Bowdoin College. Prior to joining Bowdoin College, she worked as a senior associate at the Yale Investments Office.
Rattray is chief investment officer of Man Group and also sits on the MSCI Advisory Council.
Before joining Man Group, he worked at Goldman Sachs where he held various positions, including managing director.
APG supervisory board elects chairman
The Dutch asset manager has elected Pieter Jongstra as chairman of the group’s supervisory board, following the resignation of Jaap van Manen on 1 January 2020.
Jongstra has been a member of APG’s supervisory board since February 2015 and also holds other positions. Previously, he worked for accounting firm EY for a large part of his career. From mid-2015 to mid-2018, Jongstra was chairman of the Dutch Professional Organisation of Accountants.
Fund Channel names chief executive
Pierre-Adrien Domon has been appointed chief executive of Fund Channel.
He replaces Richard Lepère, who stepped down at the end of December 2019.
Domon has been a member of the management committee since 2012. He joined Fund Channel from Axeltis, a fund distribution platform which Natixis sold to MFEX Mutual Funds Exchange. In this role, he was business development director working with institutional and distribution networks.
Fund Channel is a European fund distribution platform, which is co-owned by Amundi Group (50.04%) and BNP Paribas Asset Management (49.96%) and based in Luxembourg.
Fund Channel says that it exceeds €200bn of assets under intermediation.
The firm provides a range of digitised services related to fund distribution activities intended to simplify fund distribution, for example, striking distribution agreements with both distributors and asset managers or enabling contacts between distributors and fund managers.
Eaton Vance Management appoints Nordics business development director
Henrik Hoffmann-Fischer joins Eaton Vance Management (International) (EVMI) as the firm’s business development director for the Nordics region, reporting to Tjalling Halbertsma, the managing director.
Hoffmann-Fischer replaces Sebastian Vargas who transitions to a new role responsible for the Netherlands and southern Europe.
He will oversee existing client relationships and new business development for the Nordics region, with a focus on credit, emerging market debt, responsibly managed strategies and the systematic investment strategies of Eaton Vance’s affiliate, Parametric Portfolio Associates.
Hoffmann-Fischer will work collaboratively with investment teams in London and Boston.
Previously, he worked at wealth manager Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) in London, where he served most recently as head of sales for the Nordics.
The firm manages assets worth $497.4bn (€450.4bn) as of 31 October.
