PA ANALYSIS: Dangers lurk for investors as Trump takes office

With President Donald J. Trump now sworn in, the phoney war is over and talk can become policy over the first 100 days. Should investors be bullish or worried?

“Additional upside will come from Trump fiscal stimulus, corporate tax cuts, repatriation of overseas capital, and some deregulation of the banking industry,” Ward added.  “Estimates vary, particularly as it relates to the nature and timing of both individual and corporate tax reform, but we anticipate roughly 60 basis points of incremental GDP.  Reduced regulation could also precipitate further capital lending and incremental growth.  Of course, the legislative process is very complex and time consuming and, accordingly, we do not expect any major changes until the third quarter of 2017 at the earliest.”
