Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has launched a retail offering in the Italian market offering a range of investment solutions within exchange traded funds (ETFs), Sicavs and Icav Ucits schemes.

Giancarlo Sandrin (pictured) has been appointed as Italy country head, wholesale & retail to oversee the establishment of the wholesale business. He will be based in a newly opened office in Milan, and will report to Simon Hynes, head of retail EMEA distribution.

Giancarlo joins LGIM from BlackRock, where he was head of asset manager clients for its Italian iShares business.

Hynes said: “We’ve seen increasing appetite from investors across Europe for our range of solutions and opening a local office in Italy was the natural next step in our expansion plans. Building out our ETF business in Italy is a key priority for us.”
