IQ-EQ has added Diana Senanayake to its roster as the firm’s new managing director for Luxembourg and regional CEO in continental Europe.

The firm said that Senanayake was joining directly from BNP Paribas Securities Services in southeast Asia where she had been CEO. Before her current role, Senanayake worked as a managing director for RBC Investor & Treasury Services.

She will now take responsibility for all activities across IQ-EQ’s continental European offices, including Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Cyprus. She will also head up the regional leadership team encompassing finance, HR, operations, sales, risk, and compliance as well as client relationship management and client services.

Mark Pesco, group chief executive officer of IQ-EQ, said: “We conducted a very thorough executive search to find suitably experienced candidates to head up our Luxembourg office and lead the wider region, and only the very best could take on both of these key leadership positions! I feel confident we have found the right personality and skillset in Diana and look forward to working with her as we continue to grow our Luxembourg business and our footprint across the continent.”

In a recent response to a LinkedIn post, Senanayake said that she had finished her term at BNP Paribas by taking part in a company initiative to visit senior citizens in a Singaporean hospital.

BNP Paribas said in a post: “As part of our ongoing commitment to build more inclusive communities, over 30 colleagues from Singapore, including some members of the Executive Committee, brought smiles, cheer and laughter to elderly residents at the Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital recently. Our colleagues engaged seniors at the nursing home through craftwork, music, games and distributed care packs to them, providing companionship and support to the elderly in the community.”

Writing beneath, Senanayake wrote: “It was really nice to spend my last hours at BNP Paribas, supporting the elderly people in need at the community hospital in Ang Mo Kio. You realise how few hours of your time can make such a difference.”

There have been a number of shifts in IQ-EQ’s European workforce in recent months. As we reported back in April, the firm has employed Bram Eijsbouts as its new CCO in Luxembourg.

The investor services group said at the time that the appointment was part of the firm seeking to strengthen its global leadership team and advance its growth agenda. In addition to its Luxembourg appointment, IQ-EQ said it had appointed David Kim as its chief CCO in Asia in the same month.
