US investment group Invesco has appointed two new senior sales managers based in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of its efforts to expand its institutional, retail and wholesale business in the region.

Guido Hansmeyer, who will be responsible for asset management clients as well as funds of funds and multi-family offices, joined the firm’s German retail and wholesale team in April. He will be joined by Alexander Atobrhan, who will manage German institutional sales.

Guido Hansmeyer joined from BMO Global Asset Management, where he was Head of Wholesale for Germany. He also previously worked at WestLB Mellon Asset Management and BHW Invest. He will report into Sascha Specketer, who heads Invesco retail and wholesale in Germany, Austria and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

In his role as senior Institutional Sales Manager, Alexander Atobrhan will be responsible for building the institutional client base, particularly pensions funds. He previously worked in institutional distributions for German fund house Metzler Asset Management. Prior to this, he worked for Universal Investment and Baader Bank.

At Invesco, he will report into Thomas Kraus, Head of Institutional Business for the DACH and CEE region. Kraus said: “The hires will help develop portfolio solutions for our clients and underlines our commitment to the German market.”
