Luxembourg-headquartered Quintet Private Bank has announced the death of its group chief executive Jürg Zeltner.
He died on 22 March at the age of 52, having battled an unspecified health issue since last year.
Zeltner is survived by his wife and two children.
He joined Quintet in 2019 after eight years as president at UBS Wealth Management.
Jakob Stott will become interim group chief executive at Quintet.
He has led the bank since early December 2019, after being named wealth management chief executive in summer 2019.
Big presence
“On behalf of Quintet’s board of directors, shareholders, management and 2,000 employees, we extend our deepest sympathies to Jürg’s family at this extremely difficult time,” said Jan Maarten de Jong, chairman of the board of directors at Quintet.
“We are enormously grateful to Jürg for his visionary leadership and invaluable contribution in defining a long-term growth strategy for our firm. We will miss his presence as an inspiring colleague and man of great intelligence, integrity and honour.”
