Richard Briggs has been recruited by Gam Investments from credit research firm CreditSights.
He joined the EM debt team as an investment manager on 18 May.
Led by Paul McNamara, the team is responsible for managing Gam’s local emerging bond, emerging market rates, emerging market opportunities bond and hard currency emerging bond strategies.
In his role, Briggs will focus specifically on EM sovereign credit from London.
During his seven years at CreditSights, Briggs was a senior analyst and latterly led global emerging markets strategy and sovereign credit research.
Prior to that, he was an economist with a focus on emerging Asia at Alliance Trust.
