The asset management firm said the funds – Solys VIA Smart Income Europe and Solys VIA Smart Income World – aimed to generate net returns of 4% to 5% per year by offering exposure to companies with high dividend payouts and solid fundamentals.

It said through the application of a hedging strategy, the risk of losses, volatility and the performance of the funds were on average half that of standard equity markets.

“VIA AM uses a unique proprietary accounting technology, which enables it to detect companies that meet the desired criteria,” the firm said.

“The reduced risk profile of the funds is obtained through the implementation of systematic hedging strategies, using options.”

The Europe fund invests in around 100 European companies spread over the region’s main sectors and markets, while the world fund invests in almost 160 companies worldwide, including emerging markets.
