Elo Mutual Pension Insurance has named Carl Pettersson (pictured) as chief executive.
He will join the company in the autumn from Veritas Pension Insurance, where he has served as chief executive since September 2017.
Elo chairman Antti Aho commented: “Pettersson has strong expertise in the financial services, investment and pension insurance sectors; as well as a solid track record of successful leadership in a regulated business environment.
“He has the experience and expertise to lead Elo as the company moves into the next strategy period.”
Quick turnaround
Pettersson’s appointment comes weeks after the pension firm announced the departure of chief executive Satu Huber, who had been in the role since June 2015.
Her resignation was announced on 17 March, and it was confirmed that chief investment officer Hanna Hiidenpalo would serve as interim chief executive from 16 March.
It followed a decision by the Financial Supervisory Authority to appoint an authorised representative for Elo after the company recorded a one-day breach in its solvency position.
Attorney Pekka Jaatinen took up the role on 14 December with the task of supervising the firm’s operations and acting as a representative of the financial regulator in meetings of the board and the executive group.
