The chairperson of French fund giant La Banque Postale Asset Management is to leave the business after five years in the role.

Daniel Roy will be replaced by Emmanuelle Mourey, who has worked as the general secretary of the company since 2015.

Speaking on Roy’s departure, a spokesperson for Postale Asset Management said he had “greatly contributed” to the company’s development, having established strategic partnerships with Dutch investment house Aegon Asset Management and French group Malakoff Mederic.

“More recently, the commitment to switch 100% of the institution’s assets into sustainable and responsible investment management, and the decision to merge Tocqueville Finance with La Banque Postale AM confirmed the company as a key player in the industry.”

The spokesperson added that Roy had made a substantial contribution to the company’s insurance liabilities management programme, leading a project to reconcile insurance and euro rates with French banking group Natixis.

New chairperson Mourey began her career back in 1990, working as a credit analyst in New York for Credit Lyonnais. She joined accountancy group PricewaterhouseCoopers two years later, working in Paris and New York before joining Credit Agricole subsidiary CPR in 1996, as head of consolidation and management control.

Mourey was also at JP Morgan France from 2003, as director of management controls and chief financial officer before joining La Banque Postale Asset Management. She is a graduate of EM Lyon.

While announcing the change of chairman, the company confirmed two other positions on the company’s general management committee. Mirela Agache-Durand, already general manager of Tocqueville Finance, will become chief executive officer of La Banque Postale Asset Management and Vincent Cornet, director of management will remain on the management board.
