Capital Group has appointed Benno Klingenberg-Timm as its new head of institutional for Europe and Asia.

He begins his role immediately and will fill the role left vacant by the passing of Stephen Gosztony last year. Writing on LinkedIn, the Singapore-based Klingenberg-Timm wrote: “I am excited to embark on this new journey, alongside my fellow associates, at one of the most legendary investment firms in the world of asset management.”

Klingenberg-Timm is moving to Capital Group after over two decades at UBS. His most-recent role for that firm was as head of institutional and global sovereign markets for the APAC region, which he held from June this year. Before that, he was head of global sovereign markets for APAC, along with managing director, a position he held for six years.

Klingenberg-Timm also wrote on LinkedIn: “When I entered the UBS Asset Management office in Zurich for my first day as a graduate trainee on 1 October 2002, I was full of excitement. Twenty-one years later, I am looking back at an international journey that exceeded even my highest hopes. Working with our institutional clients brought me to (literally) all parts of the world. I will be forever grateful for this time, for the trusted partnerships we built and friendships we made.”
