BNP Paribas Asset Management’s head of European large cap equities, Andrew King, has left the role after a decade.

In an announcement, the firm said King was leaving to pursue external opportunities and that he had spent 18 years at BNPP AM and its predecessor companies.

BNPP AM chief investment officer for fundamental active equities, Guy Davies, said: “I would like to thank Andrew King for his significant contribution to BNPP AM in building such a strong European equities team and I wish him every success for the future”.

King will leave at the end of September and his role has been internally appointed to Peter Abbott who is currently senior portfolio manager.

“Peter’s appointment will enable the team to continue to deliver high quality service to clients, as well as positively impacting the broader organisation,” Davies said.

Abbott is one of the founding members of the European large cap equities team and joined BNPP AM’s subsidiary ABN AMRO Asset Management in 2007. Abbott moved to BNPP AM in 2010.
